I am starting to feel better from my episode of the death flu that has been running around town. During the past two weeks, I haven’t really paid close attention to the calendar. I was looking at it last night and all I could think was, “Crap, my anniversary is next week. Crap, my sister’s birthday is next week. Crap, my niece’s birthday is next week. Crap. Crap. Crap.” Well today, the shit only got deeper as I frantically searched for gifts. My sister is easy. She asked for Clinique Happy perfume. Done. My niece has decided Hello Kitty is a religion. I bought her a ~~jewelry box~~ messenger bag, sunglasses, earrings, tissues, and an eraser set dedicated to her false idol. Done. I hit a wall with my husband. It is our 8th wedding anniversary. You are suppose to give bronze, linen, lace, appliances, or a trip to a casino. I don’t know who came up with this but its pure crap and only serves to stress me out because I can never find an appropriate gift to go with the theme. I decided to scrap the tradition and think what would make my husband happy. My first thought was a New Zealand All Blacks Rugby jersey. Of course the jersey, in the size I need, is back ordered. The only other clothing item he has requested is a tee-shirt that says, “I support single mothers.” It has a picture of a woman dancing on a pole. I am tempted but it just seems wrong. Then I discovered that Eddie Izzard is performing in NYC next week. Great! Perfect! All the tickets through Ticketmaster are gone. I am frantically back to the drawing board. Any ideas????
