My niece Hanniah is getting into singing nursery rhymes accompanied by hand-clapping. My sisters and I loved hand-clapping games when we were in grade school. I asked her if she knew CeCe My Playmate. She did not so I started teaching her these lyrics (The hand motions are not easy to teach a 4 year old, but so much fun!):

Ce Ce my playmate.
Come out and play with me,
and bring dollies three.
Climb up my apple tree.
Slide down my rainbow,
into my cellar door, and
we’ll be jolly friends,
forever more, more, -more, -more.

Well apparently I know a different version because as I was searching for a copy of the lyrics for my sister, I found these lyrics:

 Say, say oh playmate,
Come out and play with me,
And bring your dollies three,
Climb up my apple tree.

Slide down my rain barrel,
Into my cellar door,
And we’ll be jolly friends,
Forever more – more – more!

Does anyone recall this song? Did you use either of these lyrics or did you use others?

FreeRice has two goals; to provide English vocabulary to everyone and to end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free. Those who advertise on their site pay money for each vocabulary word you get right. It is challenging and educational!
