My niece has inherited my sense of balance.

January 23rd, 2008 · No Comments

I went to visit my sister and her children today. It has been tough not seeing them as much since my surgery and accident. Mackensie, my youngest niece, runs up to me lifts her left foot and says, “Look Aunt Becky! I got new shoes.” She looses her balance and tumbles to the floor. My sister Lisa then tells me the other day she fell down and while laying face down she told her mom, “I forgot something.” Lisa told her, “Yeah how to walk.” Mackensie puts her full heart into everything she does. She colors with intensity. She laughs until everyone laughs with her. She runs full speed and nonstop. Mackensie is fearless and she needs the tee-shirt that says, “I do my own stunts.” She likes to wear her bicycle helmet around the house for protection. I think Mackensie is resisting potty training because she doesn’t want to loose the extra padding that comes with the diaper. I just hope that our common sense of balance is merely a stage she is going through!  Today she told me she hopes my boo-boo gets better soon, so that I can play. She is one cool kid. The doctor told me two more weeks of the cast and I will be back to shaking my booty as my niece Hanniah says.
