He repeats this a lot in his song “Say”. I need to say this song drives me up the wall. I rank it up there with fingernails on a chalk board and listening to dolphins calling each other. This song keeps popping up on the radio while Pete and I are driving around. I usually get sick of hearing, “Say what you need to say.” and change the channel in the middle of Pete trying to count how many times that lines gets repeated. I like John Mayer and I even own his first CD, but I can’t stand that song. Since I have thwarted Pete’s attempts to count the number of times the line is repeated, I just came in and watched the video to count how many times that line is repeated….41 times. If you don’t believe me, watch the video and count yourself.
John Mayer Would Like Me To Say What I Need To Say

roflmao.
This song makes my husband INSANE! So, I went and downloaded it just so I could play it endlessly for him when he’s super cranky.
I can not believe you actually counted how many times he says it!!

I am with your husband! As soon as I hear the chorus on this song, I change the channel.

LOL I’m a HUGE fan of JM, and even though I own ALL his albums (kind of a lie - I downloaded them all and have only bought ONE album but regardless… I know ALL his songs) but I have to agree that this one is very annoying. But maybe that’s what he’s trying to get everyone to do… encourage everyone to hate the song and voice their opinion about it! He’s a pretty talented and smart guy so I wouldn’t be surprised!!
Beeks, look out for my upcoming review of his recent concert in Toronto =D
p.s. I missed you!!

Hey, saw your post on the Blogher forum. I clicked around your site a bit. Good luck with the fertility treatments. Parenthood is chaotic awesomeness. I couldn’t bring myself to play the Mayer video you have on this post because I don’t want to get one of his songs stuck in my head. It’ll take like 3 weeks for me to recover from something like that. Come by and see me at lifewithharper.blogspot.com if you have a sec!

Ok, I actually like this song, but you definitely have a point, esp. if you don’t like a song and they keep saying the same thing over and over again…Have a gr8 weekend. Nice to see you again. *smoochies*

My husband was singing this song the other day. I like the message it is trying to send but it does get to you.
I found a band I liked the other day-Delta Spirit. Stop by and check out my Friday’s Song by them.

I completely agree! This song is so annoying and just goes on and on and on, saying nothing! I just wish he’d say what he needs to say and move on.

I saw JM live last week, and when he played this song, I thought of you and your blog.
I find it significantly less annoying than you do…but I can see your point.
