It is Superbowl Sunday

February 3rd, 2008 · No Comments · Humor, Interesting

We do not blog in our household on Superbowl Sunday. It is a national holiday. One of the few my husband recognizes. He even has celebration food: summer sausage, cheese, mustard, salsa, queso, and tortilla chips. There are rituals: shower, put on comfy clothing, and gather the celebration foods. There is even music: Queen, Boston, Van Hallen, Creed, Def Leopard, The Who, AC/DC, Twisted Sister, and Leonard Skynard to name a few. Decorations take the form of big screen television and surround sound speakers. Bowls and platters in the shape of footballs are acceptable but not necessary. There are holiday stories such as Rudy, the Replacements, The Final Yard, Varsity Blues, Any Given Sunday, and Necessary Roughness. We also like to visit friends and family to share in the joy. Today we are watching the Superbowl with the guys at the Ugly House. I am the only girl…but that is a later blog. Happy Super Bowl!
