but I love political elections. Today I was looking for the new Mike Huckabee ad (The one he decided not to air because of his moral dilemma in contributing to campaign mudslinging but them promptly viewed to ever new agency in the free world.) I guess I have to wait till tomorrow for that one to be readily available on You Tube. I did however come across this campaign gem again. Chuck Norris is endorsing Mike Huckabee. It makes me chuckle each time I see it. Who does Chuck Norris appeal to? People who liked the Texas Ranger show or his kung foo movies? Interesting demographic appeal…. I also came across a candidate match survey  on Pricegrabber.com of all places. You answer a few multiple choice questions and they match you with the candidates that have the highest matching percentage to your answers. I identified mostly with Republican Alan Keyes  and Democrat Bill Richardson. I didn’t have a high matching percentage with either. Keyes matched with me on 41% of the issues and Richardson matches with me on 36% of the issues. So do I select a candidate who I disagree with on 59% and 64% of the issues? This does not surprise me because I don’t identify with either party. I generally decide what issues are most important and select the lesser of two evils. I am not socially conservative as are most Republicans. I believe in a woman’s right to choose, gays rights to marry or have civil unions, and I think that religion does not have a role in government. I think that everyone should have equal rights and protection under the law and the right to pursue their happiness as they see fit. I also think we don’t need to police the world and I think we need to depend less on oil. On the other side I am not as fiscally liberal as most Democrats. I don’t think that Social Security and welfare are anywhere near what was intended by our government and it has created institutional slavery in this country and a voting pool for the Democratic party. I cringe anytime I hear the words universal health coverage. I can only imagine my taxes being wasted on another large government agency that fails to accomplish what is intended but can’t be put to rest. I am not interested in a government that is responsible from the crib to the grave for each citizen. I can think for myself and I can act on behalf of myself and my family. I also don’t think that we should jerk our troops out of Iraq. We made a mistake going in, but I think pulling out would only destabilize the region and create future problems. So I can only watch in anticipation of election day 2008.
It is still to early to make a decision as to who to vote for….
