“Who is Michael?”
I ignore the question and try to follow the characters interaction.
“Who is he?”
I give the husband my best Can’t you see I am watching television and trying to keep up with what is happening? look. It doesn’t work.
“Who is Michael?”
I hit pause on my TiVo and say, “If you want to know what is happening on LOST, then you are going to have to have to watch it.”
I hit play. He continues to observe. A few minutes go by.
“Why didn’t you just say he was the one with the kid.”
I just shake my head.

Ya know, the “previously” recap in the beginning of the episode did a pretty good job summarizing who Michael is. It’s a little fast, but the gist is there.
There’s gotta be a site out there that has the synopsis of all of the characters prior to a new episode…

My big pet peeve is when my wife and I sit down to watch a movie neither of us have seen and she proceeds to ask me about what is happening, what is going to happen and so on. I have no clue, I haven’t seen it before.

Rudy: He has glanced at recap shows. Unfortunately all this does is cause him to ponder the show more. I think I am just going to buy the past seasons on dvd and make him watch them all.
Pilot: That gets me too! My mom is the queen of tell me what is going to happen.

LOL… I am SO one of those people. I drive my husband crazy. Hahaha.
This is funny because if someone did this to me I’d be just as annoyed, but when I do it I don’t feel like I’m the annoying at all. Crazy how that works, eh?

lol this is one of my pet peeves, and my boyfriend’s pet peeves as well but… every now and then when I’m feeling extraordinarily childish and naughty (not that kind of naughty) I do just this to anyone that’s watching TV even if I don’t care about the show… muahahhahahaha ;P

Haha. My sister did the same exact thing to me on Friday. I just now got her into Lost so questions I usually don’t mind but she asks them right in the middle of the show then asks me why certain characters are doing things. Like why someone is doing something in a future flash, like I’m supposed to know lol.

Kristen: You hit the nail on the head! LOST is one of those shows where most of the time you don’t know what is going on and you are doing your best to keep up.
My husband read my blog entry and giggled. Pushing my buttons is his favorite pastime!

Ahh.. and to make it even better, after the recap, the person asking leaves the room to do something else…. ugh!

I’m going to have to make sure we don’t watch tv together
10 Beekers // Mar 24, 2008 at 12:55 am
Judi: Of course
Monique: Not you too! We could watch reruns. I don’t mind being bugged during those.

Well, maybe it ’s just me, but even as a faithful watcher of Lost from the very beginning, I have a very difficult time keeping up with what is going on!!! And even when I “think” I know, I don’t know…we’re not supposed to! That’s the whole point of the show…to keep us guessing! In short, NOBODY really knows what’s going on on Lost!
If you haven’t been watching from the very beginning, I don’t think it’s possible to “get” the show because it’s extremely complex and layered.
But yes, it is terribly exasperating to be interrupted during a show…imagine if you didn’t have TiVo! I think it may be grounds for divorce!
