Going to the Baseball Hall of Fame

May 6th, 2008 · 5 Comments · Interesting

Pete has finally scheduled some time off from work. In a few weeks we will toss aside his Crackberry and my cell phone and see the sites! We decided to start our little vacation by heading up to Cooperstown, NY. Pete has always wanted to go to the Baseball Hall of Fame and I am excited that this will make one of his baseball dreams come true! I won’t exactly be short changed. We have booked a room at the Landmark Inn. I have heard good things about small inns and B&Bs of New York. I love historic homes and I can’t wait to see Cooperstown, which apparently is full of charm! I am going to visit the Fenimore Art Museum, which is known for their collection of American art. We will then take a leisure drive down to Cape May, NJ and then a short ferry ride over to Rehoboth Beach, DE for a few days with family and friends. Baseball, history, beaches, rum punch and seafood…this is our kind of vacation!

That sounds awesome. It’s one Jan’s goals to get to one day visit the Baseball Hall of Fame. He LOVES baseball. Another goal is to see all the major ballpark stadiums. I hope we can make that happen for him one day.

The Inn looks lovely… like something right out of a movie!

I have been to New York and even to Cooperstown several times, but never had a chance to visit the baseball hall of fame. Mostly because the trips where when I was a a wee one under the oppressive rule of the parents, niether of which is a very big fan of baseball. But I do think it would be interesting to visit at some point.
You have to be carefull with little bed and breakfast type of places. Some are run much better then others. But if you find a good one, it can be a very enjoyable trip.

Hrm, I’m thinking that I’m going to go to a Toronto Blue Jays game while I’m here this week. Against the Devil Rays… The place will be packed… not.

Awh you two are so cute. I wish you all the best on your holiday!! Sounds like my kind of a holiday too! Say hello to wonderful New York for me. I’ve never lived there but I loves New York. 😀

Darn, I’ve been living in NYS for 9 years now, and still haven’t made it out to Cooperstown. Perhaps I’ll drag hubby out there this year… if only for a relaxing weekend in a B&B!
