In Mrs. Fong’s 9th grade Honor English class, she had us fill out a survey of all our favorite things, current events, predictions etc. at the beginning of the school year. She had the class give her the surveys in self addressed, stamped envelopes and promised she would mail them to us a year later. I remember being floored a year later at how wrong I had been in my predictions and how quickly friendships soured in high school. I kept mine and came across it in a scrapbook recently. I couldn’t remember 3/4 of the people I mentioned and my tastes have changed a lot. I am not the sort of person who wishes that I could change my past. Each person and event helped make me become the person I am today and I like this person! I see writing to the future me as a mental scrapbook. This experience is what draws me to the FutureMe.org website. You can write something to yourself and send it to you in the future. You can also send emails to others in the future. I love the concept!
