My mom is on some good drugs while she recovers and while on these drugs her favorite thing is to talk about is me as a child. Besides having a thing for running around buck naked, I apparently consumed food in a strange manner. From the time I could eat solid food until about the age of three, I would mix my food and drink together in my plate and then eat the new and improved mixture. Something happened at age three to stop all of this. I then began eating one thing at a time. I decided the order in which food was placed on my plate. I would start with my favorite food and and save the least favorite item on the plate for last. Nothing could touch. I ate mashed potatoes and gravy separately. If something became tainted by touching another food, I would refuse to eat the item. My mom bought special plates to keep my food completely separated. To this day I eat one thing at a time. The only difference is that I now eat the least favorite thing and save my favorite food for last. I remember telling my mom that when I got to be “growned up” that I would eat dessert and fried chicken for dinner every night. I wish I could go back to the days of not having any knowledge of calories or fat content!

Ha! We always had the one minute rule in our house: if it falls on the floor you can still eat it up to one minute. Sounds stupid now that I write it!
This sounds like me! I still eat one thing at a time and vegetables are ALWAYS first. I don;t mind my food touching anymore, but I still eat it one thing at a time.
Also, LOL… I could not handle watching you as a kid eating everything you mixed together. I’m making a face while I type this!
I’m glad you’re growned up enough to realize that you need save the best for last.
Oh, yea…I completely relate…I love bento boxes! And, I still get teased about eating this way!
Amen on the calories…
Hm… I don’t mind my food touching, but I can’t use the same fork for my meal, and then dessert. And I definitely can’t eat each part of my meal one at a time, I need to take a bite of each in turns! I get bored if I eat the same thing all in one go! hehehe
Have you heard about Paul McKenna’s method for making you thin??? Look it up! It’s fascinating!
