Fresno Barnes and Noble offers free WiFi but they do not have any plugs for the laptops. Think they want people to stick around for a while?

Disabling Twitter in "additional permissions" involves about 8 clicks, as it is listed under several categories as you scroll down. I Xed the first one, and tested, but tweets still showed up on Facebook, then I went back and saw all the other Twitter permissions that I needed to delete.

What I wanted to do was, de-couple my personal status and my Twitter account.

Just found the place.

Jeez, longest mousing around EVER.

Here you go, in case you're interested:

http://www.facebook.com/editapps.php?ref=mb#/editapps.php?v=allowed

What took me so long was, I didn't understand where to find Applications tab. You gotta hold down the "Settings" tab--under that is "Applications Settings." [if you just choose "Account Settings" you'll never get there=mistake I was making].

Phew.

That's crazy.

Trying to figure out where the failure is, perhaps if all they wrote on the note was "damaged", when they looked at it later, they didn't see any problem with it and didn't notice the envelopes were sealed shut.

Poor system, regardless.

As much as I loooove reading I am not sure I could do 100 in a year. Maybe 52. And that's only because I subscribe to every magazine on the planet so that takes up a lot of my reading time. I am currently reading the JD Robb series which is a ton of books sooooo maybe I can use that as my motivation and sign up afterall.

It's good to see you back!!!!

That doesn't work anymore, now that the Facebook GUI changed again it's necessary to follow a different procedure.

While finding the settings remains the same, now one simply must click on the third tab of the app settings; called "additional permissions". There, we must uncheck the box.

That should do the trick.

Additionally, you could switch it back on by following the same procedure.

Hope this was helpful, happy-remorseless tweeting!

Hey there Beeker,

I don't comment very often but I read everything you post. I just wanted to let you know, you're not alone. Even when it seems like no one's listening or no one's there, I and your other readers are empathizing with your every word. I don't know about everyone else, but this is true for me: I may not always have the right words to say, which usually keeps me from commenting, but you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Keep up with the positive thoughts. You have a talent for seeing the silver lining, and it shows in your writing: "It is so easy to concentrate on what you think is missing versus embracing what you have." Don't lose that. It's good for your soul.

All the best,
Jenn

Thanks so much for this post. Even now (Dec 09), it is still helpful. I was searching Google for tips on how to unlink Twitter to Facebook. One thing I noticed - When you first go to your Settings Tab and click "application settings", Facebook defaults to listing the apps you have used in the last 3 months and I didn't see the Twitter app listed. I found this confusing at first because I installed the Twitter app over a year ago and figured it should show up since I use Twitter every day. Not so!

You have to adjust the upper right setting called "Show: " and choose "authorized" from the drop-down list. This will show you ALL the apps you've authorized and then you can delete. Once I found this, I was able to delete and now I can selectively choose to post to Facebook via Tweetdeck. Whew. Thanks for the info!!

When I was at school - many moons ago, we used to sing..

Ce Ce my playmate
Come out and play with me
Ce Ce my bonnie bee
Climb up the apple tree
Slide down the drain pipe
Into the cellar door
And we'll be friends, friends, friends
For ever more, more more

but my 7 y.o. DD sings a different version again, she sings...

Ce Ce my playmate
Won't you come play with me
My Daddy has the flu
I don't know what to do
Slide down the drain pipe
Into the candy store
And suck a lollipop
For ever more more more
