I was checking out television shows on Hulu and I came across the pilot episode for Glee.  I saw that Jane Lynch, who just makes me die laughing with her performances, was cast in the show.  Glee was created by Ryan Murphy, who created Nip/Tuck,  so I thought I would watch the show while I was doing laundry.  The show is engaging, funny, and full of amazing performances!  If FOX keeps up with the quality exhibited in the first show, this is going to be a favorite for a lot of people. I don’t think this was what Vince Shilomi had in mind during his infomercial for ShamWow! Today was our friend Scott’s birthday and as a gift, our friends bought ShamWows and made them into pants. Just imagine all the creative uses for pants such as these. No matter how many times I requested it, he would not pour a pitcher of water down his pants. To beat this,  I need to somehow get Billy Mays’ autograph for my husband’s birthday. I wonder if he has a fan club?

I don’t know if you have ever watched Real Housewives on Bravo but it is like watching a Discovery channel documentary that Gucci threw up all over.  I don’t have cable television but when I travel or visit friends and family, I love to channel surf and I have spent some late nights shell shocked at the behavior of the women on these shows.  I have said the only way the show could become even more sensationalized would be to host it in NJ or a trailer park.  I have nothing against trailer parks, but there is more gossip and hen fighting in a trailer park than a college sorority.  I moved to NJ two years ago and there are some tough cookies around here.  After going to a playground with my friend and her son, I knew NJ was a whole new world. Mom’s decked out in heels, designer jeans, Channel sunglasses, perfectly coiffed hair and makeup, pushing around Hummer strollers as they barked Brooklynese into bedazzled cellphones. Well today I see that either someone was ease-dropping on my conversation or the Big G has a wonderful sense of humor because the Real Housewives of New Jersey is coming to a television screen near you!

I loved this song when I was a kid. I had no idea what it was about, but I loved it.

I am a HUGE Sookie Stackhouse fan or more importantly I am a HUGE fan of Charlaine Harris who writes the Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire series. I just finished watching the first episode of True Blood on HBO which is based on the series of books. I am excited to say that Alan Ball (Six Feet Under) has created a new show that everyone can enjoy even if they have not read the books but does not disappoint those who are avid readers of the Vampire series.  Anna Paquin plays the Sookie character perfectly and I about died laughing at Rutina Wesley who plays her best friend Tara Thorton.  I sincerely hope that this series catches everyone’s attention because I would love to watch a few seasons of Charlaine Harris’ characters coming to life on television. Here is a synopsis of the show as released by HBO:

“Thanks to a Japanese scientist’s invention of synthetic blood, vampires have progressed from legendary monsters to fellow citizens overnight. And while humans have been safely removed from the menu, many remain apprehensive about these creatures “coming out of the coffin.” Religious leaders and government officials around the world have chosen their sides, but in the small Louisiana town of Bon Temps, the jury is still out.
Local waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), however, knows how it feels to be an outcast. “Cursed” with the ability to listen in on people’s thoughts, she’s also open-minded about the integration of vampires — particularly when it comes to Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), a handsome 173-year-old living up the road. But as Sookie is drawn into a series of mysteries surrounding Bill’s arrival in Bon Temps, that tolerance will be put to the test.”

Is there anyone out there that does not think that Joshua Jackson is hot? I was so in love with him during my Dawson Creek days. I am horribly addicted to the show Lost and when I saw that J.J. Abrams had created a new series and that Pacey Witter was going to be one of the lead characters I knew I was going to be watching.  I felt like J.J. Abrams delivered last night as Fringe debuted on FOX. The opening scene on the plane has made me question my upcoming travel abroad. It horrified the hell out of me but I loved that the show appeals to those of us that love conspiracy, fringe science, horror, and hot lead characters. My only complaint is that I found their use of special effects in designating where the scene was located to be annoying. I will be watching and hoping that the show delivers!

How much money and time was spent trying to prosecute R. Kelly over the years? It only took the jury 6 hours to find him innocent. They didn’t even have to call out for lunch. I can remember listening to his song “You Remind Me of Something” over and over and over. It cracked me up that he won a Grammy for his gospel song, “I Believe I Can Fly”. It is a good song.

New Kids on the Block were on the Today show this morning. They entertained the crowd with a montage of their hits. I will admit that my room use to be covered in pictures of these guys when I was 13. I was in love with Joey and Jordan. I even bought the Christmas album. I am not a big fan musical reunions. Unless it is The Monkees singing Daydream Believer. I had such a crush on Mikey Dolenz and Davy Jones during their reunion in the mid 80’s. Although technically they were old enough to be my grandfather. There is just nothing better than The Monkees pretending to play instruments and lip singing!

I went to see Baby Mama this afternoon. I would give it 3.5 out of 5. It is a chick flick. A 30-something chick flick to be exact. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hilarious. The shower scene and the natural birthing class scenes are classic. When this comes out on video, you should definitely rent it for a girls’ night!
